The Deputy Chief Information Offificer provides strategic and operational leadership for LankaPay’s technology ecosystem, ensuring the reliability, security, resilience, and continuous development of Sri Lanka’s national payment infrastructure in consultation with the Chief Information Officer. The role oversees planning, execution, and governance of IT operations, payment systems, cybersecurity, disaster recovery, and digital transformation initiatives, while ensuring innovation, regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and business continuity. As a senior leadership team member, the position strengthens organizational technology capability, leads high-performing teams, and delivers secure, scalable, and future-ready digital payment solutions aligned with LankaPay’s strategic objectives and the advancement of Sri Lanka’s financial ecosystem.
This position is responsible for assisting management in the continuous improvement of network and network security operations, including the following key responsibilities:
Lead the development and execution of IT strategies, major technology initiatives, and modernization programs aligned with LankaPay’s corporate objectives, digital transformation roadmap, and long-term growth.
Lead and oversee IT operations, including infrastructure, applications, networks, cybersecurity, and disaster recovery, ensuring high availability and operational resilience.
Lead IT strategy, governance, and continuous enhancement of the national payment network infrastructure, ensuring secure, resilient, highly available, and scalable connectivity.
Oversee the design, security, performance, and optimization of enterprise and payment network architecture, ensuring uninterrupted transaction processing, operational resilience, and regulatory compliance.
Drive the modernization of network technologies by enhancing interoperability, infrastructure resilience, and ecosystem connectivity to support business growth.
Ensure the stability, performance, and continuous enhancement of mission-critical payment systems, maintaining service reliability and operational readiness across primary and disaster recovery environments.
Drive IT governance, cybersecurity, compliance, and risk management initiatives, ensuring adherence to regulatory, audit, and business continuity requirements.
Manage IT budgets, technology resources, vendors, and strategic stakeholder relationships, ensuring cost optimization, service excellence, contractual compliance, and effective delivery of technology initiatives.
Provide strategic technology leadership and operational insights to strengthen LankaPay’s technology capability, support informed decision-making, and advance Sri Lanka’s national digital payment infrastructure.
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team, fostering accountability, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
